Adopt a school. Its children get the world, every week.

Fund one government school for a year. A trained KC educator walks in every week, its children get the same story-led class that Kolkata's leading private schools pay for, and you see every single class, dated and photographed.

Kindness is always fashionable.

Why adopt

Same story. Two classrooms.

Private schools pay for Knowledge Capsules. Government schools cannot. So the same capsule reaches both only when someone pays for the second room.

A private school · in English

The school pays for it.

Children at The Heritage School and Shri Shikshayatan get a new Knowledge Capsule every week. Netaji, INSV Kaundinya, the Amur Falcon, the Bullet Train. A story, then a quiz, then every hand in the air.

A government school · in Bengali

Someone has to pay for it.

The same capsule, in the same week, with the same depth and the same quiz, taught in the language the children learn in. The school is never billed. That is the part an adopter covers.

One school pays for it. The other one is waiting for you.

What one adopted school gets

A full year of Knowledge Capsules.

This is the programme already running in 78 West Bengal government schools under Department of Education permission. Adopting a school puts one more school on it, for a whole year.

A class every week

A trained KC educator walks in with a forty minute capsule: one story from the week's news, tied to India and to the textbook, closed with a quiz so the facts stay.

The Sunday Mega Quiz

Free and live every Sunday at 11. The school's children play alongside children from about 50 schools, with a leaderboard and a certificate with their name on it.

Canva and AI for teachers

KC is Canva's growth partner in West Bengal. Teachers learn Canva for Education and AI the way they will use it, including translating a lesson into Bengali or Hindi.

A storytelling workshop

The Art of Storytelling, a 90 minute workshop for the school's teachers, aligned to NEP 2020. We do not lecture about the method. We run a full capsule in front of the staff room.

The big days

Special capsules for Independence Day, Republic Day and Children's Day. In Har Ghar Tiranga week this August, more than 30,000 children marked it with Knowledge Capsules.

Certificates

Participation and achievement certificates for the children. Printed with each child's own name, for the classroom wall or the fridge door at home.

Children's paintings of INSV Kaundinya handed over on the deck at the Karwar naval base
Karwar naval base · the paintings reach the ship
One capsule, start to finish

A class that ended on the deck of a Navy ship.

Our capsule on INSV Kaundinya, the Indian Navy's recreation of a fifth century stitched ship built without a single nail, ran the way every capsule runs.

  1. The question. Why would anyone build a ship without a single nail?
  2. The story. A ship drawn from a painting in the Ajanta caves, and sailors who crossed oceans centuries before Vasco da Gama.
  3. The quiz. The facts planted at the start, harvested forty minutes later, with every hand up.

Then the children painted what they had learnt. We carried those paintings to the naval base at Karwar and handed them to the ship's architect, on the deck itself.

That is what you are funding. Not a lecture. A story a child carries home, and sometimes a lot further.

Where the money goes: the educator who walks into the school every week, the capsule they teach, the quiz and the certificates, and the reporting back to you. The school pays nothing. It gives us forty minutes and its children, and its own teachers are freed, not burdened. We confirm the school and the plan with you before anything starts.

What you get back

You will never have to ask where the money went.

The proof arrives on its own, from the first week to the last.

We read every form

They asked for a reward. We brought 5,500 biscuits.

Head teachers kept writing the same thing on their forms: “If some prizes are given occasionally it will encourage the students.” So in Har Ghar Tiranga week, 9 to 14 August 2026, every child who came, answered and celebrated with us got a treat. More than 5,500 biscuits, given by Sobisco. An adopted school's voice reaches its adopter too.

KC to KBC

From a KC classroom to Amitabh Bachchan's hot seat.

Purav Bhattacharyya, a KC child from The Heritage School, cleared round after round of KBC Juniors and won ₹5 lakh. Four more KC children reached national television, and two of them won another ₹5 lakh. The Sunday Mega Quiz your school's children will join is free and open to every child.

Rajeev Poddar, founder of Knowledge Capsules
Where this comes from

A teacher who taught lakhs of children for free, from his bed.

Rajeev Poddar has been paralysed from the chest down since childhood, and his formal schooling ended at Class 2. For over thirty years he has taught India's children accountancy, economics, current affairs and public speaking, entirely free of cost. He still teaches every week, on Zoom, from that same bed. A TEDx speaker and a three time Padma Shri nominee.

In 2023, his nephew Aditya Poddar formalised that lifelong mission into Knowledge Capsules. The private schools pay. The government schools never should have to. That is where you come in.

Who adopts a school

Anyone who believes in curiosity.

Companies

Choose schools near your plant, your office or where your people come from, and get a dated class for every rupee. Idea: one school in every city you work in.

Families

Mark a birthday, an anniversary or a memory with something that outlasts the cake: a whole school year, in someone's name. Idea: pool it with your family or friends.

Alumni and clubs

Rotary, Lions, residents' groups and old batches adopt the school down the road, or the one they once studied in. Idea: a reunion that pays for a year.

Before you adopt
Can I choose the school?

Yes. Name a school you care about, such as your old school or one near your office or home. If you would rather we choose, we suggest a government school that has asked for KC and is waiting for a sponsor.

How do I know the classes are really happening?

Every class is photographed, dated and published on our public government schools gallery, with the school's name and the story taught. You also get a monthly report and the head teacher's signed feedback form, and you can walk in and watch any class.

Is this eligible as CSR spend?

Yes. Promoting education is listed in Schedule VII of the Companies Act. The Rajeev Poddar Knowledge Capsules Trust is registered on NITI Aayog Darpan with 12A, 80G and CSR-1 registration, and we share every document your CSR team needs.

Do I get a tax benefit as an individual?

The Trust holds 80G registration. Tell us you are giving as an individual and we will send the receipt details your CA needs.

Which classes and which language?

Knowledge Capsules is built for Classes 3 to 12, with younger capsules like Jonathan the Immortal Tortoise and Mangoes for primary schools. It is taught in the language the school learns in, English or Bengali.

Can my company's team get involved?

Yes. Your team is welcome to sit in on a class, meet the children and see the work for themselves. Tell us when, and we will arrange it with the head teacher.

What happens after the year?

You get the year in one story. Then you choose: the same school again so the children keep going, a new school, or more schools. There is no lock in.
