The quiz is not the test at the end of the lesson. It is the reason the lesson held their attention in the first place.
A child who is being talked at can quietly opt out. A child who might be asked next cannot, and, more to the point, does not want to. That is the whole mechanism: a quiz turns a room of listeners into a room of participants, and it does it without anyone being put on the spot in front of the class.
Because the quiz follows a capsule the children have just heard, nobody arrives cold. They are not being examined on what they failed to memorise; they are being invited to use something they learned four minutes ago. The confidence that builds is the point, and it is the thing principals tell us they notice first.
At The Heritage School, one of the first to run Knowledge Capsules for every child and not just a select few, we asked a question, and instead of one or two hands, every hand shot up at once. When they answered together, the hall echoed in perfect unison. Chocolates and small rewards turn every right answer into a moment of pride.
It also travels further than we expect. A child who sat in a Knowledge Capsules session went on to win ₹5 Lakh on the KBC hot seat, one of several KC children who have reached national television. We call it KC to KBC.
Taken into partner and government classrooms, where the focus is inclusivity and fun, teamwork and quick thinking rather than individual scores. Every capsule closes with one.
Every Sunday · online · free for everyone, whether or not a child's school is a KC partner. A live, fastest-fingers-first, national-level inter-school quiz, curated by Rajeev Poddar with a fresh set each week, drawing on a library of 300+ quiz decks that covers nearly every major event of the last four years.
