One mark per school, and the grid keeps growing. 78 government schools today, on track for 100. 577 classes across 266 visits between January and August 2026: real classrooms, timestamped, unedited.

The programme

The same model, with the fee removed.

Storytelling is the policy, not an activity. A CSR-funded KC programme inside a government school is not a workaround. It is the policy, exactly as NEP 2020 describes it.

This is deliberately not a reduced version of what paying schools get. A government-school classroom receives the same capsule, in the same week, run by the same educators, closing with the same quiz. The only difference is that nobody is billed.

The same capsules our Heritage and Shri Shikshayatan children read in English on a Wednesday, Netaji, INSV Kaundinya, the Amur Falcon, the Bullet Train, our government-school children read in Bengali on a Thursday. Same story, same depth, no fee, every week.

KC operates in these schools under permission from the West Bengal Department of Education. Between January and August 2026 that meant 577 classes across 266 school visits, with most schools visited more than once and one of them sixteen times. The programme is 78 schools today and on track for 100.

The programme is funded by KC's partner schools and CSR sponsors rather than by the government, which is the honest answer to how something free keeps running.

A government school session

For CSR partners

What sponsoring this actually costs.

  • ₹875 runs one full capsule class, start to finish.
  • ₹30,000 a month keeps KC teaching across a cluster of schools.
  • A registered trust with 12A, 80G and CSR-1 in place, and NITI Aayog Darpan registration.
  • Departmental permission already granted, so sponsorship starts working immediately rather than waiting on approvals.

Campaign

Har Ghar Tiranga, 35,000 children in five days.

A separate figure from the weekly programme, and a different kind of proof: what KC can mobilise when the window is short.

Across five days, KC reached more than 35,000 children through the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, a scale the ordinary weekly rhythm is not built for, delivered inside a fixed window.

It is worth stating separately for exactly that reason. 30,000+ children a week is what KC sustains. 35,000+ in five days is what KC can surge to when a campaign calls for it. Government and CSR partners tend to care about both, and about the difference between them.
